CPEG DINNER IN VANCOUVER, OCTOBER 25, 2007

Italian dining at Provence Marinaside, 8PM. We will meet at the CDA-CSEM registration desk at 7:30PM, at the end of the poster session. RSVP by Tuesday noon is essential if your name is not among the confirmed list below. Associate Members FREE, Active/Founding Members $15, Accompanying Guest $25. This includes: (a) return tickets on the SkyTrain if it's raining and-or we're in a hurry to make it on time; (b) dinner; (c) glass of wine before dinner and wine with meal. Come enjoy each other's company!

First-year Fellows at training programs across Canada are invited to join CPEG as Associate Members. Please invite your new Fellows to email the Secretariat to request a membership application form, or email the request yourself and distribute the forms locally. Remember, Associate Membership is FREE with program director's letter (attesting to trainee status). It's only after fellows sign up as Associate Members that we will have their contact information on file (and only then that we can inform them of Vancouver's October social evening and of the Scientific Meeting in April '08).

SVP demander vos "Fellows" de s'adresser par courriel au secrétariat pour recevoir une demande d'adhésion. Rappelons que l'adhésion est GRATUITE avec lettre d'attestation du directeur/superviseur. Ce seront seulement les membres associés dûment inscrits qui se trouveront sur notre liste d'adresses (et ce pour leur informer des événements GCEP à venir).

Please note that the planners appreciate the feedback from those who confirmed that a midday start on the Thursday is OK. Specific times to follow, but please make your travel arrangements to arrive in Vancouver by MIDDAY on Thursday April 3, as the Program will begin very early that afternoon. The Program will end before 1PM on Saturday April 5, permitting same-day return travel to most points East, or an enjoyable extended visit in Vancouver. We are delighted to report that a nurses' program is also under development for this meeting, and CPEG will hopefully welcome a large number of endocrine nurses as members through 2007 and 2008.

Les planificateurs tiennent à remercier tout ceux/celles qui ont soumis des commentaires sur la cédule proposée. Les heures précises (à la minute) restent à confirmer, mais planifier votre arrivée à Vancouver vers MIDI le jeudi 3 avril, car le programme débutera tôt en après-midi. Le programme scientifique terminera avant 13h00 le samedi 5 avril, permettant un retour le samedi à la vaste majorité des destinations canadiennes, ou bien du temps supplémentaire pour apprécier une visite à Vancouver. C'est avec grand plaisir que nous développons un programme destiné aux infirmières, qui seront, espérons-le, des nouveaux membres (en grand nombre) du GCEP en 2007, 2008, ...

The position of President-Elect is currently vacant, and the position of Secretary will be vacant as of April 2008. Nominations will take place in early 2008 (with elections PRN at the Annual General Meeting). The two-year terms of Treasurer and Standing Committee Chairs will end in 2008, and, in the unlikely and undesired event of non-renewal, will also require nominations +/- elections. Please consider offering your time and energy to serve your beloved CPEG.

Call for Abstracts

Fellows and faculty are invited to submit abstracts for oral presentation at the CPEG meeting. Abstracts can be based on research carried out by the fellow or faculty or on interesting and informative clinical cases.
Abstracts should be submitted to Dr. Diane Wherrett -
diane.wherrett@sickkids.ca or 555 University Ave, Toronto, Ont, M5G 1X8.
The abstract deadline will be in late January/early February, with further details to follow.
Format - 300 words, not including title or author names and affiliations, additionally, a table or figure can be included. Abstracts will be chosen for presentation after review by a CPEG committee. The John Bailey award will be presented to the best research abstract presented by a fellow.
